Full stainless wins for longevity. Silicone rims look nice and are gentle, but they degrade, crack or discolor over time with heat/oil exposure. All-stainless ones (good grade) don't wear out – no peeling, no fading, rim stays rigid. Mine is all stainless with polished edges – sits stable, no scratching pans, and after two years it's still pristine. Mesh is durable too. Easier to clean since no silicone to trap gunk. If you want something that lasts years without fuss, go full stainless. This one has solid all-metal construction – grease splatter guard . Much more reliable.
