Project Homeless Connect

Project Homeless Connect is a nationwide initiative aimed at addressing the needs of individuals experiencing homelessness by providing them with a centralized location to access a wide range of services and resources. The goal is to connect individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness with essential services and support in a single, coordinated event. Casper Housing Authority hosts a Project Homeless Connect event each year at bringing together various service providers, community organizations, and volunteers under one roof. The 2025 PHCNC will be held at the Eagles Club at 306 N. Durbin on January 24, 2025, from 9am to 4pm.

Services offered during Project Homeless Connect events may include:

  • Basic Needs Assistance: Distribution of clothing, food, hygiene items, and other immediate necessities.

  • Healthcare Services: Medical check-ups, dental care, vision screenings, vaccinations, and access to other healthcare resources.

  • Housing Support: Information on shelters, transitional housing, and assistance with finding permanent housing.

  • Legal Aid: Support with legal issues such as identification documents, criminal record expungement, and accessing benefits.

  • Employment Services: Job counseling, resume building, and connections to potential employers.

  • Social Services: Mental health counseling, substance abuse treatment information, and other social support services.

  • Grooming Services: Haircuts provided by volunteers or local stylists.

The collaborative nature of Project Homeless Connect involves the participation of community partners, volunteers, and various service agencies, fostering a sense of community and providing a holistic approach to addressing homelessness. The event purpose is to meet immediate needs and to help individuals on their journey towards stable housing and improved overall well-being.
