A Trip to the Vallée de Mai Nature Reserve — Parking and Route Considerations
Hello! We really want to visit the famous Vallée de Mai Nature Reserve on Praslin and see the unique Coco de Mer palms. We're planning to rent a car. Could you tell me how difficult and steep the road is leading through the center of the island to the reserve? And what's the parking situation near the park entrance? Is it easy to find a free space during the day, or is it better to arrive just before it opens?

The road through the center of the island to the Vallée de Mai is very scenic and completely paved, although it does wind in places. There's no need to be afraid of it, just drive carefully. We rented a car for the entire duration of our vacation through a trusted English-language platform https://roscar.sc/car-rental-praslin/, and it was the best decision. There's a parking lot at the entrance to the reserve, but it's small, so it's really best to arrive early in the morning—you'll have no problem parking in the shade, and walking through the tropical forest in the morning coolness is much more pleasant. The rental service was perfect: the car was delivered to our hotel, there were no hidden fees, full insurance is included, and payment is cash on delivery. I highly recommend it!
